Purpose of the Latino Ivy League Conference
The Latino Ivy League Conference aims to empower young Latino Students who have overcome cultural and structural challenges to attend Ivy League institutions: Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. Every year, a group of 80 students from these institutions joins to discuss difficult topics that include race, gender, and socio-economic factors affecting the Latino identity in the United States.
Ultimately, the goal of the Conference is to foster the desirable relations needed to build a strong network of Latino students at Ivy League Institutions. We aim to create a platform for motivating students to become dynamic leaders who can identify the issues in their communities and make bold moves to change them. The Conference celebrates the achievement of the students in attendance and encourages these students to use their resources to further advance the tenure, professional, and economic status of other Latinos in academia.
