Casa Latina is a special interest community that exists for the purpose of providing a safe haven and accessible space for the Latin@ communities and allies. Casa Latina’s programming is centered on the universal education and celebration of Latin@ culture with a focus on social justice. They are a space dedicated to exploring the diversity of our Latin@ culture.

Chicano Caucus
Chicano Caucus seeks to provide its members who self-identify as Chicano, Mexican, or Mexican-American with an environment that will help them to fulfill their educational goals, to promote their cultural consciousness, and to help them become active in serving the needs of their community. The goals of this organization in achieving this mission statement shall be: To inform Chicanos from every region of the United States about higher educational opportunities. Particular emphasis on the strengths and weaknesses of an education at Columbia, and at other east coast universities, encouraging them to apply, and assisting them in the application process. To initiate and participate in activities that foster inter-group relations, interaction among the Chicano Caucus, the Columbia Community, the New York and east coast Chicano, Mexican, and Mexican-American community. To contribute through our active participation to the general well-being of Latinos, and towards the proper resolution of the problems facing these analogous peoples.

Grupo Quisqueyano
Grupo Quisqueyano is a student organization at Columbia University that represents and pays tribute to the presence of Dominican students, Dominican heritage and culture on both Columbia and Barnard campuses' and the broader New York community. As the largest immigrant group in the city and the fastest growing Latino group on the Columbia & Barnard campuses, it is our goal to share the Dominican Culture with everyone.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Chapter at Columbia
The HSF Scholar Chapter at Columbia exists to promote academic success and professional preparation among college students, while encouraging them to serve as role models and leaders in their communities. The HSF Scholar Chapter at Columbia University was recognized by Barnard’s SGA in the 2006-2007 academic year and the Activities Board at Columbia (ABC) in the Spring semester of 2011. From its inception, the Scholar Chapter at Columbia University has continued to promote the ideals of the organization through academic excellence, community involvement and professional development.

PorColombia
PorColombia is an international organization that seeks to unite students of Colombian Heritage and students interested in learning about Colombia. With chapters in different universities across the United States and Canada, PorColombia creates and supports a well-established network of students, alumni, mentors, and professionals with substantial involvement on academic, social, cultural, and philanthropic activities. The Columbia PorColombia chapter seeks to educate the student body and the outside community about Colombian culture, politics, and the country’s rich heritage through social events, discussions, and city outings. We aim to educate and raise awareness of present and future opportunities to build from abroad a stronger, safer, and dynamic Colombia.

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1974 by a group of engineers employed by the city of Los Angeles. Their objective was to form a national organization of professional engineers to serve as role models in the Hispanic community. SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development. SHPE's vision is a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as the leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians and engineers.

Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. is a national organization with a unique mission to expand awareness of the Latino culture, to promote sisterhood and leadership, and to stand for excellence and education among women. We strive toward these goals through our shared values of Solidarity (Solidaridad), Inspiration (Inspiración), and Friendship (Amistad). While our love for the Latino culture is one of our commonalities, we are NOT Latina-exclusive. Our community service platform includes, but is not limited to, sponsoring impoverished children in Latin America (Children's International), AIDS activism (One Heartland), various local causes (SIA Cares), and the R.O.S.E. Mentorship Program which aims to uplift young Latina women of ages 14-18. The Alpha Beta Chapter particularly strives to uphold our goals and values at Columbia University and its surrounding community.

Whether through our involvement in University efforts, or stepping out into the community and providing assistance to those in need, Hermanas make it a daily goal to help improve our surroundings. Today, with over 600 women of over 81 cultural, ethnic and racial backgrounds, our determination and commitment continue to define our relentless spirit.
